Throughout the long stages of conception and reality, the two of you and all other Olin participants continued at your regu lar jobs. This was done in the tra dition of those who two centuries ago also struggled against advers ity to bring to reality their concept of a free and independent demo cracy. I am proud of the Olin employees who contributed wholeheartedly and effectively to the overaSS suc cess of the Transylvania County Bicentennial celebration. My con gratulations and thanks go to all for a great job well done. I am also pleased that Olin had a small part to play in it. Sincerely, Garza Baldwin, Jr. APPOINTMENT THOMAS R. TOWNSEND has been appointed area supervisor in the Ecusta Paper Division Machine Room. He has served as shift fore man, paper machines 10-11-12, for the past three years. As area super visor he will continue assignment with Ecusta’s larger machines. He has been with Olin since March 1955, having served in various capacities in the Machine Room. Prior employment was with Town send Brothers Well Co. He is a native of Boone and a graduate of Cove Creek High School at Sugar Grove. He served with the U. S. Army during the Korean War and is active in Cub Scout work.
